Mita Giacomini

Mita’s methods combine photography, collage and stitch. She digitally manipulates original photographs and transfers the images to fabric by various means. She then further renders, colors, and textures the pieces with pencil, paint, dye, ink, needlework, collage, and quilting. Mita currently focuses on silhouettes, shadows, and reflections — the graceful, organic abstractions created by the interplay of light and environment.
