The Dream Catcher

The stories of residential schools touched me deeply. Children were ripped from their mothers, their heritage stolen. In asking forgiveness, can we open our hearts and join together to become Dream Catchers of peace for all children?

The world of imagination opens up when you just play and have fun with ideas. Experimenting with all sorts of materials, the artwork just evolves when you follow the “what if” thread. You never know where you’ll end up. It does, however, lead to addiction to fabric, tiles and shiny things. Infusing words or writing poems to go with the piece adds to the experience. Humour often pops up. A fugitive from the Quilt Police, I believe that creating is a journey of the spirit, a lot cheaper than therapy. It brings joy.
