Before Computers

Before computers we played outdoors, close to nature where a mouse has a tail, maples have keys and a website means a spider was working. Families had picnics , kids were free to explore. It was pretty idyllic as I remember it. I must be getting old.

The world of imagination opens up when you just play and have fun with ideas. Experimenting with all sorts of materials, the artwork just evolves when you follow the “what if” thread. You never know where you’ll end up. It does, however, lead to addiction to fabric, tiles and shiny things. Infusing words or writing poems to go with the piece adds to the experience. Humour often pops up. A fugitive from the Quilt Police, I believe that creating is a journey of the spirit, a lot cheaper than therapy. It brings joy.
